Foolish Smile
Funny for a moment I thought,
I listened and all of it I bought.
I am still the naive little boy,
and one more time I was the toy.
I was played for fool and you win again,
I am that one you can always count in.
I bought all the feelings and cried for while,
I thought of you and had a foolish smile.
Then I realized this is my life I am in,
How I got here and the pain of the swim.
I am a foolish little boy,
You played me like a toy.
The worst part really is,
I would do it again for your kiss.
Or anything to be close to you,
Feel your warmth shining through.
But this is my life we are playing with here,
And I know I am not the one for you would shed a tear.
With my foolish smile I bought all your tears,
I took them in and tried to rid your fears.
I am that silly little boy with no sense at all,
And the moment you rang I started to fall.
With out thought and without any good reason,
I started the trip and dreamed of every season.
But I know the truth and I have grown up,
I know there is no happy and no true love.
I know there is pain and fear in my heart,
And I fear there is more pain trying to start.
Yet I wear the foolish smile again tonight,
And once again I wait with my phone in sight.
