Feel Good!

Everyone has tried to lose or gain weight at some point or another in their life. Whether is was losing a few pounds for a wedding or trying to gain weight to build more muscle, we have all done it at one time or another.

You know, the “D” word. Dieting has become sort of a fad in the late 20th century with all kinds of different dieting methods and programs to choose from.

I will not talk about all the different ‘methods’ of diet. I will, instead, talk to you about actually achieving your weight control goals. You choose the method, I will explain to you the how. After all, how something happens is probably the most important part of any plan, because with out the “how” there is no true understanding of control.

First you have have to understand your goal. I will focus on losing weight. I would imagine you happened on to this page because you are looking to lose weight.

So what type of person are you? Do you eat to much? Do you barely eat? Do you eat for comfort? Are you not an active person?

Contrary to popular belief, you can lose weight with out exercise. You will probably not get the body type you picture in your head, although you can lose weight.

Here are the different types of people and the different types of solutions for the types.

You eat too much. When you sit down for a meal you need to fill your self. You like that “full” feeling. In order to lose weight you need to drink a full glass of water BEFORE you eat. You will be surprised how much this actually makes a difference in your weight over time. Notice, I said over time. This will not be a over-night change in weight or looks. This will be a very slow approach, although this allows you to still have that “full” feeling yet eat less to do it.

You barely eat. If you are this type of person, you are actually doing more damage to your body then you think. First, your body, over time, will learn to feed off itself. This means your muscles are being used to fuel your body for everyday function. Your body goes into crisis mode and stores everything you eat. Your metabolism basically stops, so you are not burning food for energy. You need to eat at least three meals a day for your body to maintain any type of decent metabolism schedule running.

You eat for comfort. This is difficult to address because this is an issue you have created and only you can get yourself to uncreate it. Basically, at some time in your life, you decided food made you feel better and the act of eating it was an out for you. Typically this type of person eats too much as well. My only suggestion here would be to either focus your feeling good on something else, make a certain exercise your focus to make you feel better. Anything other than eating.

You are not active. Let me guess, you sit in an office all day working on a computer? Then you go home and you sit in front of the tv and do nothing else. you need to simply get up and do something. Jumping jacks, anything that gets the heart pumping. Even if it is not for a long time.

Summary to Losing weight

There are many different types of people and different ways to lose weight. You need to find what works best for you. Simply exercising is not going to help you lose weight if you are not eating right. I was 260 lbs. and I rode my bicycle 25 miles a day. And I did not lose one pound. The reason is because after I got home from work riding my bike the second half of the 25 miles, I would get fast food and award myself for exercising that day. And of course that only plays into the whole eating for comfort issue.

There are plenty of different programs and supplements to help you lose weight. You could, for instance, sign up for the South Beach Diet program. I have heard good things from friends that have been on it. As far as supplements, there is Hoodia. Probably one of the best appetizer suppressants I have ever taken. And now it is combined with Green Tea to, so it increases your metabolism while suppressing your appetite.

The Bottom line!

You decide how you want to look. There is no easy way to tell you this, so I will just come out and write. You are in control, the more hard work and effort you put in to achieving your goals, the faster you will get to them. Losing weight is made easier with exercise. There is no other way around it. you want to lose weight fast, it is simple calories in and calories out. At one point I was on a 900 calorie a day diet. I was 300 pounds when I started it. I was not hungry once. I ate all the time, which developed in to other issues. I won’t go into those now. I dropped 50 pounds in 4 months. Pretty amazing? Not at all. The calories I ate were jam-packed with nutrition. So I was getting about the same nutrition as someone eating 3500 calories of whatever. READ the labels of what you eat, you won’t believe what you find.

Conclusion.

I hope you found this page useful. I am still struggling with my own weight. I am not one of those skinny people telling you how easy it is. I struggle every day with what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat it. It is constant work. Although how heavy you are really does impact your health. I know you have heard that a hundred times. It really is the truth though.
